Using Chinese Medicine and Qigong for Pain and Injuries

Whether you're experiencing pain as a result of an illness or injury, or simply chronic unexplainable pain, acupuncture, acupressure/massage, and Chinese medicine can help alleviate a number of pain conditions, including:

  • Back pain

  • Shoulder pain

  • Elbow pain (tennis elbow, golfer's elbow)

  • Carpel tunnel

  • Tendinitis

  • Strains or sprains

  • Athletic-related pain

  • Surgery recovery

  • Fibromyalgia

What is the cause of pain according to Chinese medicine? Pain is caused by impaired blood and energy circulation, often caused by trauma, surgical scar tissue, wear-and-tear from overuse, or can even be related to a chronic disease such as diabetes or heart disease.

If not related to a chronic health condition, otherwise unexplainable pain can be related to stress, anxiety, or other emotional imbalances, which manifests as stuck energy in your acupuncture meridians.

Whether there is a physical blockage or an energetic blockage, blood and Qi do not flow as easily through the area of concern, which manifests as pain. When you increase Qi flow and blood circulation in the painful area, you can alleviate most pain conditions, if not resolve them completely!

As with any health issue, it is important to find out and address the root cause of your pain, whether emotional, physical, or both. Chinese medicine encourages you to look at your entire physical and emotional being in order to truly resolve pain for good!
