Happy Late Summer!
According to the Lunar calendar, we are quickly approaching the "end" of summer or "start of Autumn" (lì qiū, 立秋), which is technically August 7th. However, it certainly doesn't feel like the beginning of fall in early August, as the period known as "limit of heat" is over on August 23rd. Five Element Theory calls this phase "late Summer," which is energetically aligned with the Earth element organs, Spleen and Stomach.
Because of this association with the major digestive system organs, late Summer is the perfect season for slowing down to nurture oneself and one's digestive system, to focus on self-care and nourishment in a more intentional way. It's a great time to take all the love and joy experienced during the summer season and fully integrate this energy into one's consciousness and body. The Stomach and Spleen not only digest your food, but also your thoughts and experiences, sorting and sifting through what to keep, what to let go of, and what to transform into inspired energy.
Part of the human experience is about self-growth not just through accumulating rational knowledge, but also cultivating true wisdom. Having a three-dimensional body is a unique opportunity to discover that you are not only what you eat, but you are also what you think--and that you are the sum of how you process and integrate your experiences in life, both internally and externally. Read more on how you can "tune in" to Earth element consciousness and tap into Nature's frequency for maximum benefit.
We hope that you continue to cultivate self-love and joy this summer for maximum self-growth in 2025.
